Updated: Weapons Complaint in Wahnapitae

Police have arrested two men for attempted murder in relation to a shooting that took place on Mountain View Street in Wahnapitae this morning around 8:00am. Police say they continue to look for persons involved and sources tell us that there were at least two male and one female suspects.

The victim, who has not been identified, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Health Science North.

Police recovered a silver Kia Spectra on the Kingsway, East of Falconbridge Road around 10:45am this afternoon as well as a discarded firearm in the area of that vehicle around 2:15pm that believed to be associated with the incident.

They say that with the recovery of the firearm believed to be the involved weapon; the seizure of the involved vehicle; and, arrest of two suspects, they do not have a concern for public safety relating to this incident.

Few other details are being released at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation. We'll continue to provide updates as they become available.
