GSPS warn of skimming device utilized at local businesses

On the 27th of January 2016, an adult male and another male accomplice utilized a fabricated card –like device at the point of sale terminals at two local businesses in the City of Sudbury. One male was arrested at the scene and will appear in Bail court in Sudbury. The second male is unidentified and left the scene on foot.

 

The male party is from Southern Ontario and therefore may have committed similar offences throughout the Province of Ontario on his way to Sudbury. Merchants are cautioned to be vigilant of potential distraction techniques utilized by culprits.

 

The Criminal Investigations Division Fraud Unit is leading the investigation.
