Five people arrested in connection with disturbance

Police responded to a disturbance this shortly before 7:00am on May 20th, 2016 in the St. Charles Street area in Sudbury.

Two female victims sustained injuries, one serious but not life threatening, caused by an edged weapon and were transported to Health Sciences North.

The preliminary investigation has determined this is an isolated incident where involved persons knew each other. There is no concern for the public safety and the accused were arrested and are custody.

Five adults were arrested as follows:
-One female for Aggravated Assault, Weapons Dangerous
-One female for Aggravated Assault, Weapons Dangerous, and Obstruct Police
-Two males on Outstanding Arrest Warrants
-One female for Obstruct Police and Accessory After The Fact

The Greater Sudbury Police Criminal Investigations Division along with uniformed officers continue to interview witnesses, execute search warrants and canvass the neighborhood.
