Black bear sighting in the Westmont area near Barrydowne

We have received a report of bear sighting in the Westmont area near Barrydowne in New Sudbury around 7:15pm on May 25, 2016

If a bear poses an immediate threat to public safety call 9-1-1.
If there is no immediate threat to personal safety, the resident will be directed to call the Bear Reporting Line toll free 1-866-514-2327. The line is operated by the MNR as part of the Bear Wise program. It operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from April to November. Trained staff can provide advice and information about bear behavior and how to remove attractants from their property.
