Police catch distracted driver for a third time

On Thursday, May 26, 2016 a member of the Greater Sudbury Police Service Traffic Management Unit cited six different motorists for utilizing a hand-held communication device while operating a motor vehicle.
Two of the six individuals cited had multiple previous convictions for the same offence, including a 23-year old female with THREE previous convictions. The driver was issued a summons compelling her to court where she faces a fine of up to $1,000.
There is no lawful reason to be holding or operating a hand-held communication device while driving a motor vehicle and this includes while stopped at traffic lights. If there is an emergency, please find a safe place to pull over before dialing 9-1-1.
