On Wednesday, June 1st 2016, at 1:45 p.m., a Greater Sudbury Police Service Traffic Management Officer while on enforcement patrol in Val Therese observed an 18-year old male proceeding southbound on Desmarais Road towards Old Highway 69, on a dirt bike that had no licence plate.  
The male party, unaware of the unmarked police vehicle, performed two wheelies by intentionally lifting the front tire of his dirt bike off of the roadway.   
The Traffic Management Officer apprehended the dirt biker when he stopped for a school bus.  
The male driver was charged with Stunt Driving, had his dirt bike impounded and licence suspended for 7-days.  
The minimum fine for this offence is $2,000. 
Greater Sudbury Police would like to remind citizens that dirt bikes are not permitted on any roadway in City of Greater Sudbury.  Dirt bikes are only permitted on private property with permission from the land owner or on crown land providing the dirt bike is plated and insured.
