SUDBURY, ON – December 16, 2015 – Union Gas presented a cheque for $48,921 to Greater Sudbury Mayor Brian Bigger at yesterday’s city council meeting. The funds are courtesy of the Union Gas EnerSmart program which offers incentives to its municipal, commercial and industrial customers to implement projects that will use natural gas more efficiently, reducing energy costs and emissions. Combined with rebates of $30,197 paid in 2013, the City of Greater Sudbury has received incentives payments to-date totalling $79,118.

The current rebate amount is the result of the City of Greater Sudbury completing energy assessments at 21 facilities and for completing the installation of new natural gas saving equipment such as infra-red heaters, high-efficiency boilers and water heaters along with heat and energy recovery equipment at five of their facilities.
