Updated - SUDBURY, ON — Detectives from the Major Crime Section of the Greater Sudbury Police Service are continuing their investigation into the April 6, 2025, murder of a 21-year-old man found deceased inside a truck on Lansdowne Street.
As part of the investigation, authorities have obtained images of the individual believed to be responsible for the homicide. The images, which have been released to the public, are aimed at aiding in the identification and location of the suspect.
Police are urging anyone with information about the individual's identity or whereabouts to come forward immediately. A dedicated tip line has been set up for this active investigation and can be reached at 705-675-9171, extension 2320.
Through ongoing investigative efforts, police believe that four individuals residing in Greater Sudbury knowingly assisted in hiding the vehicle containing the victim’s body inside a garage on Lansdowne Street.
As a result, three individuals have been arrested and charged with Accessory After the Fact to Murder:
Jay Fournier, 23
Tori Toulouse, 22
Hailey Burnham, 25
Fournier and Burnham are scheduled to appear in Bail Court today, April 11, to answer to the charge. Toulouse appeared in court on April 10 and has been remanded into custody.
These individuals, along with Monica Shawanda, who was arrested on April 7, are all known to frequent the Lansdowne Street residence where the body was discovered.
Police have indicated that the homicide appears to have been a targeted attack.

(Sudbury ON) April 8, 2025 — A 23-year-old Sudbury woman has been charged in connection with a recent homicide investigation, according to local authorities.
On the afternoon of April 7, detectives with the Major Crime Section of the Criminal Investigation Division arrested Monica Shawanda for Accessory After the Fact to Murder. Investigators allege Shawanda was the driver during the incident and later concealed the vehicle involved in a garage on Lansdowne Street. Both the vehicle and the victim’s body were discovered at that location.
Shawanda remained in custody overnight and appeared in Bail Court on Tuesday to face the charge.
A postmortem examination conducted through the Coroner’s Office confirmed that the victim — a 21-year-old man from Greater Sudbury — died from multiple gunshot wounds. At the request of the victim’s family, his name is not being released. Police extended their condolences to the man’s loved ones.
Officers continue to canvass the surrounding area for potential witnesses and surveillance footage that may assist in the investigation.

(SUDBURY, ON) — Greater Sudbury Police are investigating a suspected homicide after a man was found dead in a parked truck on Lansdowne Street Sunday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to a residence shortly before 3:25 p.m. on April 6 after a report of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle, a black 2004 Dodge Ram 1500, was located inside a garage with an unresponsive man inside.
Firefighters forced entry into the vehicle, and paramedics confirmed the man had died at the scene. Police believe the victim sustained a gunshot wound, although it remains unclear where the fatal injury occurred.
As of Monday morning, the man's identity has not been confirmed. A postmortem examination is scheduled for April 8 through the Coroner’s Office to determine the cause of death and assist in identifying the deceased.
Officers searched the home associated with the address but found no one inside. Investigators are now working to establish a connection between the vehicle and the property.
Members of the Greater Sudbury Police Patrol Operations and Forensic Unit remain on scene, canvassing the neighborhood for information and surveillance footage.
