Police execute four warrants: Three people face porn related charges

The Greater Sudbury Police Service Cyber Crime Unit executed four warrants this past week as part of the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet.

The four warrants lead to the following charges;

- 30-year old male (name withheld to protect the child victim); three counts of Possession Child Pornography, two counts of Accessing Child Pornography

- Daren Golden of Sudbury; two counts of Possession Child Pornography, two counts of Accessing Child Pornography, one count of Possession for Purpose of Trafficking Schedule II Substance, one count of Property Obtained by Crime.

- Luc St. Louis of Hanmer; three counts of Possession Child Pornography, three counts of Accessing Child Pornography, one count of Make Available Child Pornography

The Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet is comprised of the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Section (CSES), 26 municipal police services and the Ministries of the Attorney General (MAG) and Community Safety and Correctional Services (MCSCS). Coordinated investigations were underway this past week by the 26 police service partners along with the RCMP, South Simcoe Police Service, Stratford Police Service, St. Thomas Police, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Canadian Forces National Investigation Service and the United States Homeland Security Investigations.

The 26 municipal police service currently in the Provincial Strategy include: Barrie, Brantford, Durham, Guelph, Halton, Hamilton, Kingston, London, Niagara, Ottawa, Peel, Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Toronto, Waterloo, Windsor, York, Belleville, Chatham-Kent, Cornwall, North Bay, Peterborough, Sarnia, Timmins and Woodstock.
