Weapons complaint of Courtland Drive; one person sent to hospital

On the 1st of July 2016, members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service were dispatched to a reported disturbance in the Courtland Drive area in Sudbury.
Upon arrival, police located a 24 year old male who had been cut in the arm with an edged weapon. The male was sent to Health Sciences North with none life threatening injuries. A 20 year old male has been arrested for Assault With a Weapon, Possession of Weapons Dangerous and Breach of Probation.
Detectives have determined that this incident was not a random act. The involved parties are known to each other and as such there is no immediate concern for public safety.
The criminal investigation remains active as Detectives continue to speak to witnesses and collect evidence in this matter.
