Lions Eye in the Sky program adds new camera

This year, the Lions Eye in the Sky Program celebrated its 20 th Anniversary. Since 1996, the Greater Sudbury Police
Service, the Lions Club of Sudbury and the Downtown Sudbury Business Improvement Area have worked collaboratively
on the Lions Eye in the Sky Program.
The goal of this program is to ensure that Greater Sudbury remains a vibrant and healthy community by enhancing the
safety and security of citizens in our downtown core through the use of a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) monitoring
program.
As a result of commitment to the program from the Ukrainian Seniors Centre, the Lions Eye in the Sky Committee is
pleased to announce that our most recent camera is now operational.
The 17 th camera has been installed in the vicinity of Hnatyshyn Park. This initiative would not have been successful
without the support of the Lions Club of Sudbury, Downtown Sudbury BIA, City of Greater Sudbury, as well as, i-Vision
Systems.
It is our hope that the installation of this camera will further our ability to deal with crime and anti-social behaviour in real
time, as well as, assist Police in identifying potential persons of interest in investigations after the fact.
The Greater Sudbury Police Service would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of our community partners who

undertake the challenge to make the City of Greater Sudbury one of the safest communities in the province of Ontario.
