Valley Residents Passionately Defend Right to Affordable Recreation

Over 150 proud Valley East residents showed up at the Howard Armstrong Recreation Centre to passionately defend our right to affordable family recreation. The City Staff and our two councillors heard a loud and clear message that we do not want any changes to program protocols in our Sports Complex, nor do we want families, youth and seniors to pay more than a minimal 3% increase in rates. The HARC operates as a stand-alone facility and there is nothing that compares to it in the City of Greater Sudbury. Over 40 people spoke out at the meeting and provided the city representatives with countless stories of how they use the facility and how they are quite satisfied with the status quo.
