Highway 17 is closed in both direction due to a two vehicle motor vehicle collision in Wahnapitae.
Several people have been taken to hospital and there are reports that an older female victim has succumbed to her injuries.
The highway is expected to be closed for several hours while OPP investigate.
A detour has been setup for Eastbound traffic via Highway 537.
