Vagnini and Monpellier re-elected to Police Services Board #Sudbury

Micheal has been re-elected as Chair and Gerry Monpellier was re-elected Vice Chair or the Greater Sudbury Police Service Board during their recent meeting held of January 11th, 2018.

“It is an honour to continue to serve as the Greater Sudbury Police Service Board Chair and I appreciate the ongoing support. The service continues to be on the leading edge of the service delivery in terms of innovation and a modernized approach. It is a privilege to work with our team of dedicated professionals” said Vagnini. “Community Safety and Well-being reaims our top priority as we move forward under the new Safer Ontario Act.” The City of Greater Sudbury Council appointed Member Vagnini to the Board for the term of Council in Decemeber 2014. Mr. Vagnini is very active in Ward 2 and throughout the community having been a lifelong Resident of our City.

The Board also endorsed Gerry Monpellier for a second term a Vice Chair. He was also grateful for the support. “I look forward to working with my Board colleages in the upcoming year as we set new priorities and plans.” Member Monpellier was appointed to the Board by City Council in December 2014. Mr Monpellier is also active in Ward 3 and has lived in this community his entire life.

Chief Paul Pedersen extended warm congratulations to Chair Vagnini and Vice Chair Monpellier. He thanked and recognized the entire Board for their hard work and looks forward to continue to work together in developing the new Business Plan in the coming months. Our Board as governing body of Greater Sudbury Police Services in diligent in fulfilling it’s roles and responding to an ever changing and dynamic environment.
