Public tips assist Greater Sudbury Police in Arrest of Impaired Driver

On the 27th of May 2014, at approximately 8:30 pm, the Greater Sudbury Police Service received several calls of an erratic driver in the Azilda area. Having also received a description of the suspect vehicle, uniform officers who were in the nearby area, actively searched the vicinity. Soon afterwards, the vehicle was located. As officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it was observed to pull to the side of the roadway and partially enter the ditch. The female driver who displayed signs of excessive alcohol consumption, was arrested and returned the police headquarters. Breath samples provided by the female, determined she had more than 3 times the legal limit of alcohol in her system resulting in an impaired charge and excess of 80mgs.
