Greater Sudbury Police Service Seek Public Assistance in 'Road Rage' Investigation

On Wednesday August 6th at approx. 4:15 p. m., an incident occurred in the area of MR 15 at St. Laurent St. in the former town of Rayside-Balfour, involving two drivers – one operating a black Pick-up truck and the other, a white Van with company decals on the side. An altercation, which allegedly included contact between one vehicle and the driver of the other vehicle, took place on the side of the road though both involved parties eventually left the area.

Within the next hour, both individuals reported the incident to the Greater Sudbury Police Service and an investigation was initiated. The officer has since spoken to both drivers. Both drivers were following a `slow-moving farm vehicle` on MR 15, heading toward Chelmsford; an attempt to pass this vehicle seemed to have resulted in the confrontation. The statements provided by both drivers do conflict with each other therefore there is a request to have any witness / witnesses come forward to give an independent version of what they observed.

Anyone who may have witnessed some activity in this area, at the time in question, is asked to call police (705-675-9171) and leave your contact information for the investigating officer, Cst. Marc Belanger; please make reference to incident number SU14035822.
