École St-Denis wins big in basketball

The Tigres from Sudbury’s École St-Denis won on Saturday, March 22, the 2014 École St-Denis Elementary Senior Boys Basketball Tournament.



École St-Denis defeated Northeastern School in the championship game by a score of 37 à 25. The bronze medal game was won by École Macdonald-Cartier who edged St. Raphael School by the schore of 27 à 15. Earlier in the plyoff rounds, École St-Denis defeated Macdonald-Cartier (44-8) and Carl Nesbitt School (33-15). Also representing the Conseil scolaire catholique in the tournament were École Notre-Dame (Hanmer), École St-Pierre (Sudbury) and École Félix-Ricard (Sudbury).



This friendly competition attracted the participation of boys in grades 7and 8 from the area’s four school boards.



Members of the St-Denis team: Mathieu Gareau, Julien Tubin, Hunter Adams, Mathieu Lubenkov, Evan Maclean, Dante Mullin-Santone, Anthony Rogerson, Joseph Trottier, Maxim Dumais, Jacob Démoré, Félix Tubin, Sean Roberts, Éric Huneault and Samuel Cloutier.
