Pro-active Patrol Leads to Drug Arrest

On March 31, 2014 just prior to midnight, officers of the Greater Sudbury Police were in the east end of Lasalle Boulevard conducting pro-active police patrols.  Their attention was drawn to a Chevrolet Cavalier that was parked near the roadway while occupied by two adults.

The officer engaged the driver of the vehicle and noted a very strong odor of marijuana emanating from inside the car.  The driver was detained and found to be in possession of a marijuana and $575.00 cash.  A search of the inside of the vehicle located a bag containing over 200 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia used in drug trafficking.  The marijuana seized has a street value of approximately $2000.00.

As a result a 19 year old male is charged with the following offences:

•           Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and, 

Northern Internet Solution

•           Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

He has been released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in court April 16th, 2014.
