On April 12 were held the championship games of the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) Elementary School Mixed basket-ball Tournament. No less than 10 teams competed in this contest designed for grade 4-5-6- students held in the École Jean-Paul II gymnasium.

On Thursday, April 24, and Friday, April 25, some 130 Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) high school students will unleash their passion for music and art at the 6th edition of the Mélomanie cultural-artistic event.

Mélanie-Rose Frappier, a grade 11 student at École secondaire du Sacré-Coeur in Sudbury, was honoured during the Gathering Our Voices 2014 Aboriginal Youth Conference. Held in Vancouver from March 18 to 21, this conference brought together some 2,000 youths (14 to 24 years of age) as well as presenters and guests.

On Saturday, April 12th, Christine Harte and Autumn Millar, grade 11 students from Bishop Alexander Carter Catholic Secondary School's Specialist High Skills Major program in Information and Communications Technology, participated in the Ontario Technological Skills Competition (OTSC) Qualifying Round for TV/Video Production at Canadore College.

Sylvia Carscadden, founder and director of the Kampana Handbells, received the inaugural Joan Mantle Music Trust Community Award on Saturday, April 5, 2014. The award was presented during the International Dinner in support of the Trust.
