On Tuesday, June 17, at 6:30 p.m., the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) will hold a public meeting at École Ste-Thérèse (4617 Ste-Thérèse St, Val Thérèse). The purpose of this session is to present the recommendation from the external evaluation committee that had the mandate to evaluate various school site options in Val Thérèse and Hanmer.

Since 2006, 59 blue-green algae blooms have been confirmed in 26 bodies of water within the Sudbury & District Health Unit area. Again this year, the Sudbury & District Health Unit and the Ministry of Environment will be following up on calls received regarding blue-green algae.

June 11, 2014 - For the past nine years, students and staff of St. Charles Catholic Elementary have taken part in the Johnathan Hetu walk. Johnathan Hetu was an exceptional student at the school and passed away in 2004 after a two-year battle with leukemia.

In Ontario WNV has been found in birds, mosquitoes, horses, and humans. Last year there were over 50 confirmed human cases of WNV in Ontario. The SDHU reported its first and only case of human WNV in 2006
